Safe, Healthy, Empowered (SHE)

The issue:
Women and children are affected by domestic abuse in many ways, including mentally and physically, financial instability, access to housing and employment or education. It is essential that specialist organisations work together to deliver effective support and that women know how and where to access confidential and trusted help.

The Brief:

The University of Northampton, Spurgeons Children’s Charity and Eve, a domestic abuse charity are working together to deliver the three-year SHE Project, offering wellbeing interventions for women and children affected by domestic abuse.

Siskin was appointed to support the delivery of the three-year project by developing a marketing and communications plan.

Our Approach:

Siskin worked closely with all three partner organisations to develop working relationships and provide marketing and communications advice and expertise.

We worked with stakeholders, testing approaches with service users, and together we produced:

  • An audience-led communications plan
  • Logo identity for the project
  • An infographic aimed at key commissioners and service providers
  • Content for the website
  • A 12-month social media content plan

In addition, Siskin was asked to support the launch event with planning and media relations.

And as a result:

  • 30 new participants are now engaged with the SHE programme
  • Media activity for the launch reached an audience of 330,000. Raising awareness of domestic abuse and the new local support service

What the client said:

“We found Siskin to be very attentive to our needs, bringing a wealth of experience to our meetings providing a comprehensive marketing and communications plan for the launch and the project moving forward over the next three years. A cost-effective way for us to plan actions that our own staff could then complete and continue for the future.”
